Our SCORE chapter is looking for people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to serve in various roles — from knowledgeable business mentors to local community advocates.
Rozalynn Goodwin, the mother of nine-year-old Gabrielle Goodwin, turned to SCORE for help when she needed advice on how to secure financing and find a manufacturer for their product GaBBY Bows, a double-sided barrette that doesn't slip out of hair. Goodwin used SCORE templates to build a business plan and financial projections that were critical in making it one of the 15 national finalists for the 2015 U.S. Small Business Administration InnovateHER Competition, and GaBBY Bows has since doubled unit sales each year, earning recognition as a 2016 American Small Business Champion and Outstanding Diverse Business at the 2016 SCORE Awards.
Since 1964, SCORE has educated and mentored more than 11 million small business owners and entrepreneurs. We're looking for people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to serve in a variety of roles — from knowledgeable business mentors to local community advocates.
We believe that anyone can start and manage a successful small business. We also know that the road is harder for some than for others. Diverse backgrounds, different voices and unique needs may call for specialized resources and mentoring approaches.
SCORE is listening, recognizes these diverse needs, and provides personalized support in a wholly-inclusive platform called SCORE for All.
